Vecchie Terre Di Montefili, Greve in Chianti, Tuscany

At Vecchie Terre di Montefili, the philosophy is simple: let the soil speak. The estate is a sanctuary of biodiversity, but its true magic lies beneath the vines. Within their high-altitude vineyards, three different soil types intersect: Galestro, Alberese, and Macigno. This ccreates a mosaic of micro-terroirs, giving the wines a unique identity. This geological trinity is why Montefili’s Sangiovese is never one-dimensional. By vinifying parcels separately based on these "three tongues" of land, the winery crafts a portfolio of distinct personalities - vibrant and fresh, deeply structured, or elegantly perfumed - all stemming from the same grape. It is a testament to how the earth itself can rewrite the profile of a single vintage.
